Winter Sunrise over Cincinnati seen from Essex Studios

The temperatures were barely above zero when I treaded cautiously on the icy sidewalk, over Macmillan’s bridge to take the reference photograph of a golden sunrise casting cool shadows. During our recent stay in a Red River Gorge cabin I used the iPad to rough in a quick sketch for a future screenprint using five colors.
